A cross border journey to be
welcomed by the NE Vinduro club again with a new and challenging
special test.
A quick blast over the moor then
into the test starting with a moor section then uphill and into the
tight forwarder tracks. Technical in places and lots of ruts . Then
back downhill and into the end of the test.
The rest of the course was in
tight trees and some nice paths then back out onto moors again
followed by a tight taped section in the trees. Finally a long blast
over to a stubble field for a fast ride to the finish. A 10 minute
check at the pits gave riders a chance to fuel and have a wee rest.
Times were tight for the experts with the going being part of the
event not just a trail ride.
Andrew Bisset showed his
experience to lead the Experts home by 3 minutes over 20 minutes of
tests. Cai Hewitt in 2nd was the only other expert clean on time with Alister Barr just recovered from the ISDE in 3rd with Jake Reid also
returned from the ISDE 4th.
Alex Pringle also just back from
the ISDE was well up for the race in the over 40's leading them home
by a minute. Ben Roper was 2nd with Gary Turner in 3rd.
Local lad Jamie Douglas won the
Clubman Class but was pushed hard by Kris Yule in 2nd with Ollie
Macintyre in 3rd
In the over 50's James Harvey
found it a bit tighter to take the win by only 9 secs from Neil
Dawson who found the trials type going to his liking. Simon Nutter
was just behind in 3rd.
Youngster Maciej Dwornik
continues to impress to take the win in the Clubman B class. Nicky
Jones and Dylan Scott had a close race all day with just 5 seconds
separating them at the end of the day.
The Sportsman class was won by
Lewis Kennedy ahead of Sean Gunn with John Marshall in 3rd
The Vets over 50 class is
still hard fought with Mike Glass only 7 secs ahead of Steven Clark
with Alan Strachan just 3 secs behind in 3rd. No room for mistakes
here
The Vets over 60 class (
Gentleman Racers ) was won by Andrew Flockhart ahead of Davy Hill
and Phil Hewitt. Worth the long trip down.
Finally the local lads had a
Vinduro class of their own for a day out. Ian Spense leading home
Gary Cloney and Sandy Berguis in 3rd
A big thank you to Gavin Douglas and the
local boys for a great event and for sorting out dinner in the evening. A
good social event .

Craig Gordon makes a a splash on the going
