After torrential rain cancelled the last
attempt it was glorious sunshine and a super track that welcomed riders to
West Linton.
The Ecosse XC Club put in a lot of hard
work to develop a testing track for the 100 plus riders that turned out .
There was some exciting riding with the
top riders on the same lap but Andrew Bisset taking home the honours with a
consistent ride.
There was the usual sand pit to trap the
unwary and new for 2025 "THE HILL". This didn't look to bad but had
ruts and bumps near the top which caught out a few riders.
Then it was a charge across the moors and
more hills at the far end . A chance to get some speed up and a fast blast.
The Experts were led home by Andrew
Bisset in 1st with Andrew McConnell 2nd and Richard Hay 3rd. Great to see
these top class riders at speed.
In Over 40's Mark Anderson finished 1st .
And nice to see Drew Harvey back out on a bike and competitive with 2nd
ahead of Steven Anderson in 3rd
Kris Yule took the Clubman honours just
ahead of Jordon Christie with another ex trials rider Michael McNiven in 3rd
Clubman B was won by Dylan Scott . John
Weir 2nd and Andrew Sneddon in 3rd
The Over 50s was another very competitive
class with James Harvey taking the win 1 lap ahead of Neil Dawson in 2nd and
Ian Bisset in 3rd
The Sportsman class was won by Callum
McMillan with Lee Halliday 2nd and Sean Miller 3rd
Allan Strachan took the Sportsman Vets
over 50 class win a lap ahead of James Johnston with David Purves in 3rd.
John Kerwin was rewarded after a long
drive with victory in the Sportsman Vets Over 60 class just ahead of Bill
Bruce and Alasdair Anderson in 3rd.
Many thanks to Ingraston Farm for the
venue and allowing the event. One of the most popular events in the calendar
