Glendearg Hare & Hound Endurance Race run by The Scottish Borders Enduro Club - report and excellent photos by Lindsay Rae - Many thanks

Glendearg Farm high on the hills above Galashiels with some great view of the Eildon hills , with the sun out the scene was set for the final round of the Scottish Hare & Hound Championship , A 3hr Endurance race on open farmland & wooded areas and an Extreme section . The aim for the riders is to do as many laps as they can in 3 hrs  , Riders race in 5 different classes depending on their abilities .

The race started at 12pm with the Experts away first and Dean Reid took the hole shot getting a flying start , Fraser Flockhart  had a bad start but covered the ground fast and had the lead by the first quarter lap & lead for the rest of the race , Ryan Mclean in his first year in Enduros rode a good race to take 2nd place with Alistair Millar pushing hard in the last hour to take 3rd place.

The over 40s class was won by Multiple Scottish & British Champ Derek Little . James Harvey took 2nd with Alan Davidson 3rd

The Clubman class was won by John Bollton first , Hugh O'Neil 2nd and Mark Grice 3rd

The Clubman B class was won by 58yr old Willie Beaty , Gordon McGregor was 2nd with Ian Bissett 3rd

The Sportsman class is one of the biggest classes is for riders just coming into the sport they have to work the hardest as they are still learning how to ride over difficult terrain , riding through the wooded areas can be quite daunting as the trees don't move out of your way.

The winner of the Sportsman class was Andrew Anderson . Steven Anderson was 2nd with Phil Hewitt in 3rd
