Hare and Hound Championship - Round 2 - Elgin Endurance Club 2nd March 2014

The 2nd Round of the SACU Hare and Hound Championship is up at Elgin - Linkwood Farm, Birkinhill Wood. IV30 8RD

A fantastic day out - with sun all day and an improving course. There is even talk of making a film of the event - to be called  "ROOTS" !!.

Well done to Kev , Barry and crew for keeping the course sorted all day. No stoppers just 3 hours of hard riding.

Congratulations to Frazer Norrie who managed to lap every rider on the course with some very smooth riding. Good to see Allyn Scotland back after his recent injuries and really flying. Andrew Bisset is also really taking to the class and has stepped up his game with some quick laps.

IN the Over 40 Derek Little was the man on the day - despite being docked a lap twice in the first results. (oops) Grant Smith is back and looking for a very competitive season. Just ahead of Extreme expert Gavin Johnston - who prefers the rocks of Erzberg (not so many roots ...) .Border Reiver Mark Ritchie keeps coming North and getting the points - and looking smooth.

Ben Thomson did very well in the Clubman just ahead of Graham Mechan - looks like a competitive season there for the class with Ben Edwards improving all the time in 3rd

Craig McCormack is usually more at home on 4 wheels - but the trees were a bit tight for his Quad. Gordon McGregor and Hamish Oag battling it out for 2nd and third

Colin Short managed to to get a lap ahead in the Sportsman - followed by Steve Hughes and Andy Scaife.

There are some practice days up next and then the first Enduro of the year. Season opener at Lossie - always worth the trip North and a good Easter workout.
